The Kangoroos had been out of the World stage of football since 1974, also in Germany, where they couldn't manage better than 1 tie and 2 losses. Their first match started in a rather strange fashion, with a somewhat funny goal.
But they didn\'t let themselves go down. After struggling all match, in the end, they turned the score around with a 3-1 victory, their first ever at a World Cup.
